Clinical and Financial Strategies for the Extended Care Professional

Executive Desk:

Effective Leaders are Effective Managers, Too

Why is it that no one aspires to be a good manager these days? While good leaders are essential for galvanizing people and moving organizations forward, managers are not any less important. Managers have to get things done through others. The manager is supposed to plan, organize, coordinate, and control.

Coloplast Adds Two Bedside Care Foam Products to their Perineal Cleansing and Bathing Product Lines

-

Coloplast Corp. introduces Bedside Care Foam and Bedside Care Unscented Foam for no-rinse, full body shampoo, and perineal cleansing. These alcohol- and aerosol-free bedside bathing products have been designed to help meet the challenges that time constrained nursing professionals feel when bathing their patients.
Both products have been formulated with ingredients that clean, moisturize, and condition the skin, perineum, scalp, and hair. They may be used for routine tub and shower bathing or for no-rinse bathing and shampooing. The unscented version is the only fragrance-, dye-, and alcohol-free, nonaerosol foam cleanser on the market.
"Bathing and moisturizing with products that are designed to work together to ensure skin health are an important part of daily care and part of a comprehensive skin care protocol that all our customers should follow," said Dave Hotchkiss, VP of Sales & Marketing for Coloplast. Hotchkiss continued, "Some soaps can dry and damage the skin attributing to skin breakdown and ulcer development." The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) has developed new standards that list skin breakdown as one of the quality indicators used to assess staffing effectiveness.
"The Bedside Care Foam products are part of our comprehensive offering to help institutions ready themselves for Joint Commission audits," concluded Hotchkiss.
