Clinical and Financial Strategies for the Extended Care Professional

Executive Desk:

Effective Leaders are Effective Managers, Too

Why is it that no one aspires to be a good manager these days? While good leaders are essential for galvanizing people and moving organizations forward, managers are not any less important. Managers have to get things done through others. The manager is supposed to plan, organize, coordinate, and control.

Coloplast Releases Three New Contreet Antimicrobial Foam Dressings with Silver

-

Coloplast has recently gained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance and begun marketing three new Contreet Antimicrobial Foam Dressings with silver. In addition to an existing full array of silver dressings that include silver-containing hydrocolloids, adhesive foam dressings, and nonadhesive foam dressings, Coloplast now has available an even more extensive offering of silver-containing dressings with the addition of Contreet Adhesive Foam Heel Dressing and Adhesive Foam Sacral Dressing along with a new Contreet Non-Adhesive Foam Cavity Filler.
Contreet Adhesive Foam Heel and Sacral dressings are specially designed to adapt to difficult-to-dress areas of the body. The gentle, “skin-friendly” hydrocolloid adhesive border along with the high absorption capability of the Contreet Foam help to protect the periwound area from trauma and maceration. In addition, secondary dressings are not required when using these adhesive dressings, minimizing cost.
The Contreet Non-Adhesive Foam Cavity Filler is unique, as it not only can absorb high amounts of wound exudate but also expands as it absorbs, filling the entire wound cavity. Because the Contreet Cavity Filler is made of foam, there is no concern with leaving any dressing fibers in the wound.
Contreet’s unique mode of action means that there are no additional steps necessary to activate the silver. Simply apply Contreet with the same protocol as a standard foam dressing and the wound exudate activates the silver within the dressing.
To learn more about the full array of Contreet Antimicrobial Foam Dressings with silver, call Coloplast customer service at 800-533-0464.
